A. Definition Of Descriptive Text
Descriptive text is a text that aims to explain, describe, or describe something. This thing can take the form of anything, be it animals, objects, locations, and so on. Descriptive texts are usually characterized by the use of the easy tense and focus on one specific object. The object is then discussed again in more detail in the descriptive text.
While descriptive text describes something in more detail. Descriptive text can also mean:
1. Descriptive text provides information about how something or someone looks, this text uses words to describe what something or someone looks like.
2. The descriptive text also provides facts about how Indonesian is actually used according to the rules and how this text should be used.
B. Purpose of Descriptive Text
The purpose of Descriptive Text is to describe or describe a special object. The communicative purpose of descriptive text is to describe certain participants.
C. Generic Stucture of Procedure Text
Descriptive text has its own rules regarding its structure. The following is a generic descriptive text structure:
1. Identification
Identification is an introduction, in the form of a general description of a topic. For example in: My supporter is the Duke of Edinburgh. he's my acquaintances. My best friend is the Duke of Edinburgh. Hawkeye State is my classmate. This section, located in the first paragraph, aims to identify an object to be described. Identification serves to introduce the reader to the object that we will explain, before we tell about the object in more detail in the next paragraph.
2. Description
Description contains the special characteristics possessed by an object, place, or how an object is described. For example, properties, physical appearance, and other things which are then written down specifically. This section, located in the first paragraph, aims to identify an object to be described. Jember is a regency in East Java. It is located in between Bondowoso and Banyuwangi. Banyuwangi is regency that is located at the easternmost end of Java Island, before Bali Strait, so that we can know that Jember is near enough from Bali Island.
Jember is a beautiful place. In Jember, there are a lot of interesting places to visit, such as Papuma Beach, Watu Ulo Beach, Watu Ondo, Pancer Beach, Rembangan, and so on. Jember also has a famous carnival, named Jember Fashion Carnaval. It is an international annual fashion carnival which usually held in August. Beside some beautiful places and a famous carnival, Jember also has a unique culture. People usually called it as Pendhalungan. Pendhalungan is an acculturation culture between Javanese and Maduranese. Jember has a total area of 3,293.34 km2. Because of that, it creates a different culture between North Jember and South Jember. In North Jember, there are a lot of Maduranese people and they usually speak Maduranese. On the other hand, In South Jember, not many Maduranese people live there. It is dominated with Javanese people. Because of that, it creates a new unique language which other regency do not have. The example is word “Cek” which means “very”.
Paris
Paris is the capital of a European nation, France. It is also one of the most beautiful and most famous cities in the world.
Paris is called the city of Light. It is also an international fashion center. What stylish women are wearing in Paris will be worn by women all over the world. Paris is also famous for its world center of education. For instance, it is the headquarters of UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
The Seine River divides the city into two parts. Thirty-two bridges cross this scenic river. The oldest and perhaps the most well-known is Pon Neuf, which was built in the sixteenth century. Sorbonne, a famous university, is located on the left bank (south side) of the river. The beautiful white church Sacre Coeur lies on the top of hill called Montmartre on the right bank (north side) of the Seine.
There are many other famous places in Paris, such as the famous museum the Louvre as well the cathedral of Notre Dame. However, the most famous landmark in this city must be the Eiffel Tower.
Paris is named after a group of people called the Parisii. They built a small village on an island in the middle of the Seine River about two thousand years ago. This island is called lie de la Cite. It is where Notre Dame located. Today around eight million people live in Paris area.
